ProFineArt Metal Prints!
If you're looking to "WOW" people with your prints, we have just what you need. Thanks to the extreme high gloss, the look of total luminosity, and the way the image glows, you will get that "WOW" using our new ProFineArt Metal print.
ProFineArt Metal Advantages
Making prints requires a dedicated ink jet printer set up using very special (and very expensive) inks. Images are printed onto a very special transfer paper and then the transfer print is put on the final metal and placed into a very hot (400F) heat press. The ink from the transfer paper goes through a process that is called "sublimation". It changes from a solid into a gas without forming a liquid. The gas form of the dye transfers into the polyester surface on the metal and fuses into the polyester. The image is not on the surface but in the surface. This is what gives the very high gloss and the total luminosity. We expect this new technology to help these prints outlast any photo print. The dye based, dye-sub image is in the polyester UV coating that protects from ozone, UV, water and dirt. But like any fine art print they should avoid direct sunlight. Using the Hanger (which is included at no charge on all prints) has the print floating from the wall with about a 3/16 inch space. The Hanger, the European Frame, and the Floating Frame are all illustrated at our Gallery link. Prices are in addition to the price of the print and are shown in the price list above. I'm sure the experts at frame shops will have many new ways to display these prints.

With the introduction of Hahnemühle Baryta 325 gram fiber paper, we have been able to improve our fiber Perma-Stable fine art prints. The addition of barium sulphate to the inkjet coating ensures a much better gloss surface that has a slight texture. The higher gloss gives a better black and more saturation of bright colors. The new paper works extremely well on photographic images and art reproduction.
Over the years we have had many customers that have switched from Cibachrome to Fuji Flex polyester base for the high gloss finish but the Fuji Flex has continued to have the usual problems of fingerprints and scratching.
The Fuji Flex has other problems. Getting the Fuji Flex framed and mounted was difficult. Floating the print in the mount did not work as the gloss surface showed all the waving of the base. Mounting with a pressure mounting showed the "orange peel" effect. Mounting on aluminum helped but was very expensive, often costing two to three times the cost of the print. Many times they had to make another print as dirt showed up between the print and the base when mounting.
A new solution
The ProFineArt Metal prints solve all of these problems. Higher gloss surface than Fuji Flex, and a surface that doesn't etch from fingerprints is hard to scratch and perfectly flat. It's also easy to clean the surface of dust, dirt, or fingerprints. Use any standard glass cleaner or even water.
The photographic image is not mounted on aluminum. The image is fused into the top coating on the .045 aluminum. The black of the image is denser than any photo or art paper thus the color saturation is higher. ProFineArt Metal prints have luminosity that reminds you of a a great transparency. By far the best gloss print I have ever been able to make.
